I am an Assistant Professor (term)at Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering Department at University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. My major research interests include mechatronics, dynamics, controls, micro/nano-electromechanical sensors, actuators, gyroscopes, micro/nano-fluidics, biomolecule analysis, DNA sequencing, single-cell analysis, micro/nano-fabrication, and lab-on-a-chip.

I received MASc and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, Canada. University of Toronto is ranked as the top university in Canada and 16th best University in the world. I completed doctoral research under the supervision of Dr. Pierre Sullivan and Dr. Ridha Ben-Mrad. My doctoral research developed a droplet based microfluidic lab on a chip technology for DNA microarrays. I carried out advanced research in microsensors and microfabrication at Microsystems Laboratory at University of California Irvine, USA, (with Dr. Andrei Shkel), where I worked on a DARPA funded research project for developing precision rate integrating micro-gyroscopes for aerospace applications. UCI Microsystems lab is one of the top research group in MEMS inertial sensor area in the world. I also received advanced training in nanotechnology and biomolecule analysis as a post-doctoral researcher at McGill University (Prof. Walter Reisner, Prof. Sabrina Leslie and Prof. Rob Sladek), Canada, in developing next generation DNA sequencing lab on a chip. McGill University is ranked 24th in the world.

Apart from research, I commit himself to improve undergraduate teaching and learning experiences. Currently, I am teaching a number of undergraduate courses in Engineering at University of Windsor. The average effectiveness rating of my teaching from Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) Score at University of Windsor is 6.1 out 7.0. The recent average rating of Student Evaluation ranked my courses as #1 (summer 2015) in the academic unit. Prior to joining University of Windsor, I provided teaching leadership at University of Toronto by providing teaching related training and workshops to graduate students, as a Trainer for Teaching Assistants (TA) at Center for Teaching Support and Innovations at University of Toronto.

In the past, I received highly competitive awards from international, provincial (Ontario) and Canadian federal agencies. I was the recipient of prestigious Commonwealth Fellowship, Connaught Scholarship, OGS (Ontario Graduate Scholarship), OGSST (Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology) and NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) IRDF and VF.

My research articles have appeared in top tier journals and peer-reviewed conferences. I have served as a reviewer for various journals, funding agencies and conferences. I am a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and American Physical Society (APS).

In leisure time, I enjoy photography, traveling, reading, yoga and meditation.
